A denture is a removable frame to which the replacement teeth are attached. They are a relatively simple way of replacing several missing teeth and can provide a very good appearance. The frame can be made of either metal or plastic. Metal frames have the advantage over plastic that they can be made thinner and more discrete as metal is much stronger than plastic.
Two types of dentures exist, partial dentures and full dentures:
A partial denture is one that replaces some of the teeth in a patient's jaw. This may be required when the patient still has some of their own teeth present, but wishes to replace the missing ones. The frame can be made of either metal or plastic
